Endangered professions
According to the official list of the German Professional Association, the following professional groups are particularly at risk:
- Bakers
- Hairdressers
- Masseurs
- Caregivers
In these professions, a person often comes into contact with dusty food chemicals, flavors, and cosmetics. It is not surprising that more than 5,000 cases of “Baker’s asthma” and a further 5,000 cases of allergic skin diseases are reported annually to the Trade Association by professional associations.
I repeat: EVERY year!
In addition to these dangerous professions that have been officially confirmed, I would like to add the following:
- Perfume Shops Sales Personnel
- Flight personnel – the captain as well as attendants (air quality in airplanes needs great improvement – and it is not because of the dry air, as is stupidly claimed and justified by airlines!)
- Any cleaning services (mainly laundries)
- Restroom attendants
- Hotel staff
- and many more
How much more proof is necessary before the legislature prescribes effective, stringent requirements or even better, entirely forbids chemically produced fragrances?
